This is what the relief looked like brand new. Unfortunately, the logistics of the Stupa prevent a good close up (you're either on the ground, or too close), but you can see here the subtle pink of the lotus petals and the deep blue of Migyur Dorje's cloak. This was painted in 1995, and has not been repainted since. In addition, there's all the decorative ornamentation around the face of the gau. In a nutshell, there's some pretty extensive artistic work to be done!
