August 12th...Impermanence

Here's a look at the Stupa from this morning. I had an early prayer shift. I took that intending to follow it with work on the Stupas, but as I mentioned yesterday, a sangha member has been in the hospital so Amber and I went up to Baltimore to day to see her. It turned out all is well up there (for now), but we did spend the whole afternoon there. Thus, no work today.

Amber will be picking up the plexiglas Monday (she'd planned on that today as well) and I'll be out doing the touch up with the white paint. All in all, however, the Stupa is complete! Our goal is now to keep it that way, so we're already making plans for the maintenance schedule. So you can count on seeing the Stupa look like this (or very close) any time you visit!

The display made it through the night, and seems to be staying in place well. Thus, when you get a chance to come out, you have access to an introduction to what the Stupa is all about right there for you! Of course, just like this blog, you don't have to read if you don't want to! The real benefit is in seeing the Stupa!

Please do come out and take advantage of its profound blessings, it is here for no other reason. As we run up to visit a friend in the hospital, it is a reminder of the impermanence of all things. Life is fragile and fleeting. The opportunity to connect with such enduring blessings is rare. The Stupas were built by our teacher to help bring healing from illness, mental as well as physical. This Stupa is right next to the parking lot, a very short walk. Benches are right there if you get tired, and you can even sit in the parking lot and say your prayers from your car if you wish. So it couldn't be easier. Even if you can't drive, or if you live far away, we'll keep this blog updated so you can visit the Stupas any time! Posted by Picasa
