August 10th...touching up...

We spent the afternoon touching up the spire. We accomplished so much yesterday, moved so fast, that we wanted to carefully go over everything today and add an additional coat of paint just to be sure. We had several folks comment they couldn't tell the difference, but we could...

The day ended (was exhausted so forgot to take a photo!) with all the ladders, tarps and other jobsite accessories removed. Getting close to really finishing the renovation of the Enlightenment Stupa! All we have left to do is another coat of paint on the bumpa lotus petals and reinforcing our brocade set up in the gau. We're considering getting a desiccant for the gau, to place behind the brocade, so we can keep moisture at bay. The plexiglas tends to get moldy from condensation building up behind it. In addition, the brocade is heavy, and we need to add some more stitches to the velcro attached to the fabric, and reinforce the wooden frame pieces we've placed for that velcro to attach. So we're expecting to be able to get it all wrapped up tomorrow, in anticipation of the arrival of the new plexiglas on Friday!

So here's how the day went...
