The weather is posing a problem for us over the next few days still...more rain in the forecast! We're getting really close to being able to paint the Enlightenment Stupa! We now have plenty of thin set mortar to finish repairs on it, and enough to work out at the Stupa Park as well. We'll see how that goes....

The above photo is of Migyur Dorje. It is larger than all the previous ones we've worked on, but Norbu and I are feeling up to it! It is our plan to begin stripping it this week. That's going to require getting back into the routine of filling barrels of water (see March and early April in our archives on this page for our earlier go round with this logistic process). Migyur Dorje has a better road leading up to it than the Stupa Park, but no water and electric is pretty far from the Stupa itself. The good news is (we really hope this is true) the gold paint should be quicker to remove than the Enlightenment Stupa's wicked plastic paint. If it goes well (big "if", we know) it could be clear of paint in about a week, maybe a little more. We're going to be waiting on paint, but will have lots to do in the meantime. The concrete needs to be repaired, and the artwork needs to be restored! Fortunately LIsa Banana should be back from retreat next weekend, as we're counting on her skills out here! Stay tuned for updates...things are moving! Posted by Picasa
