This is a close up of the tigle of the Long Life Stupa from March, when we first started this renovation. What may not be standing out to you, and didn't to us, is that it is broken! Oddly, perhaps after working on Migyur Dorje, it occurred to me the last time we visited the Stupa Park (with Lisa to get drawings for the re-do of the Auspicious Manifold Doorways repair), that this tigle was missing two more levels. The Migyur Dorje Stupa has three balls for the tigle, so when I returned to the Stupa Park with that in mind it became obvious. The really weird part is that the very next time I checked my file folder at the temple (I must confess I often forget!), one of the missing balls was in there! This was just last week. So, I've now begun to research repair options (you always think this "research" phase may end, and you can simply get to work...alas...). The result is there is a possibility that a gentlement in Arizona, who carved the tigle for the Amitabha Stupa out there (in the shape of a tear drop!), might be willing to do it for us! The problem is, we'd need to send him a deposit for the stone (it's real crystals we're using, not glass). Our Arizona contact, who comissioned the one for the Stupa out there, estimated about $400.

If you're interested in contributing to a new tigle for the Long Life Stupa, please do use the paypal link on this page! Even small contributions will help, as we're working against the seasons now...trying to get the renovation complete before winter! Of course, there is never a requirement for such things, the Stupas offer their amazing blessings for free, to all beings. We are simply offering the opportunity to contribute to their restoration and preservation. If you do contribute via the link, please do note what you are contributing to (it'll take you to our temple account), so we can be sure to apply it accordingly.

Finally, with all the suffering arising in the world, from flooding hurricaines, to devastating earthquakes, to the looming threat of a pandemic, please visit the Stupas. There is no fee, no obligation involved, they exist only to bring healing and peace to beings. You can come and spend some time saying prayers around them, or just enjoying their quiet beauty. Whether you like them or not, they'll bring benefit to you! Posted by Picasa
