My initial thought was to use the chemical stripper up here. When I started scraping off the loose paint though, I found the underlying prime coat looked like the same horrid latex we'd struggled with prior to sandblasting the rest of this Stupa. I figured why bother wasting stripper and dealing with that mess. We broke out the belt sander to see how it worked. It does the job, but the surface isn't level, or smooth, so it's tough work. I worked at it as long as my arms held out, while Norbu cleaned the plexiglas down below. When I couldn't hold my arms up any longer, he came up and worked a while on it. Unfortunately, he couldn't stay long, it's a work day for him.  Posted by Picasa
