June 19th...Working on the bumpa...

It was just Norbu and I today. It worked out well though, as we were able to focus on the more detailed repair work. That translates into we had time to do tedious prep work. We spent time up on the bumpa, pulling caulk and scraping cracks.

It was my first experience with the M125, and honestly, it is much easier to work with than the M120. It lighter and fluffier, like cake frosting. That lightness allows it to glide into place more smoothly, and when it sets up it is more clay like. Though I haven't had a chance to see it really cured yet (it takes days for that process to really set up), it seems like it is more flexible. I can see where if it really stays in place (the big problem with shallow repairs is that they pop off readily) it is worth the shocking price (it is much more expensive than the M90 or the M120). We'll see...

KT came out to visit while we were working (I had told her I'd meet with her to update her on the budget...oops). She was, as usual, quite patient with me. : ) Her support for this project, though not as visible as the repair work itself, is really essential. So, thanks KT!

If you'd like to support this effort you can send a comment and we can let you know how to help, or if you prefer you can follow the link on this page. There are many ways to support us, from prayers to supplies! If you'd like to get your hands dirty, we can help you out there too!

We're looking at probably 2 more weeks of repairs (hoping for less, prepared for longer). Then we can finally begin to paint the Enlightenment Stupa! It is our sincere hope that if you live anywhere in the D.C. Metro area you'll consider coming out to help us paint! We'll provide brushes, paint, and a sacred Stupa, all you need is some work cloths and a willing heart! If you don't live in the area, keep visiting this site, and offer your prayers of support! If you don't care to pray (once upon a time I hated that word), then simply rejoice that such meritorious activity is occuring in this world!
