This is where Lisa and the gang focused today. If you read the post from yesterday, you already know they were working with a totally new material! Lisa reports it didn't go as far as she thought it might (they used half a bucket on this one wall). Recall however, this wall is by far the worst in terms of pitting and needed repair. It isn't as clear in this photo, but the whole wall is rippling with pitting, as I've mentioned before. When you consider the square footage involved, it isn't surprising that it took quite a bit of repair material to repair it properly. What it does mean is that we may have to look at our supply, and really decide if we'll make it with one bucket (now half a bucket). After yesterday, I'm not exactly eager to head back to Hanover, but I will if it must be done. : ) I might try to time it better though, so I can dodge some of the traffic. : )
Lisa reports Norbu, Ashby, Linda and Howard all came out to work today. Norbu had to leave early for work, so Lisa took the reigns. Thanks Lisa! It's a big step from participating to leading! I knew the project was in good hands though, as I'm confident Lisa shares this passionate desire to not only repair the Stupas, but to share this experience with as many beings as are interested. We're all working hard to open this opportunity up to everyone who has even a passing interest in getting involved. We'll support you whether you can offer 10 minutes or hours, come when you can and leave when you want! You've got a crew behind you devoted to offering this amazing opportunity to all beings!
Tomorrow, Sunday, is devoted to teachings and practice. I have to work, so can't get out to see the fruits of their labors today. I'll be out Monday, not only to see what they accomplished, but also to keep the ball rolling. For those thinking of coming out, I'll be on site Monday, and then Thursday throughout next weekend. So plenty of opportunities! I'm considering, later in the week, working into the evenings. The temperatures are nice in the evening (though in all honesty, the bugs love it then too), and it would be great to get this phase completed by the end of the week. : ) Though I am aware this is an ambitious goal. So, we'll do what we can, and keep the goal in mind! Please do feel free to join us at whatever level, even if only to watch us work. The whole project, all of it, is for your benefit, no strings attached! Come during the day, come at night, it will bring us great joy just to know you've received this precious offering!
