Well, you can't see it from this angle, but Migyur Dorje's eyes were opened! Lisa came through once again!

For myself, a great weight was lifted off my shoulders. I had been worried about the condition of the paint on the relief for some time, as it was peeling badly, with many bare spots. When Gabriel had last power washed it he stopped right away, concerned all that paint would come off, which it did. We were ready today though, and now he's primed and protected! Good thing too, as there's a flood warning for tomorrow! The caulk around the relief was in good shape, though we did have caulk and a gun on hand just in case.

We may run water up tomorrow! The evening ended with a meeting with the board treasurer, to establish some ground rules...on our new truck! Bob Calucurcio (sorry if I misspelled it Bob) made the amazing offering of his pick up truck to the project! He recently purchased a new truck, and had planned to sell his previous one, but instead offered it to the Stupas! So now we have a truck that can haul water whenever we need it! I have to learn to drive it of course (and I'll need a good stiff pillow behind my back so my feet can reach all the pedals (I'm all of 5ft 2in). But Maura, our treasurer, and I did a test fit this evening and it is definitely workable. : )

Keep us all in your prayers...you can see the crew keeps coming out, winter is on all our minds...Of course, the ultimate goal of all this is to keep these precious structures in the world for as long as possible. The bring immeasurable benefit to beings, whether it's the geese flying over head, the spiders crawling around it, or those fortunate humans who by plan or chance encounter them. They are always here for you, in Poolesville, Maryland or here online. To benefit from them is nearly effortless...all you need to do is show up! So do come out and spend some time here. It is all here for you! Posted by Picasa
