December 5th...Chills and Beauty....

Cold today, and snowing. The prayer accumulation for little Asia (4 year old with recurrent cancer) continues, so I spent some time circumambulating this afternoon.

I picked up the brocade for the Enlightenment Stupa from the cleaners today (dry clean only for the silk) and put them in a safe place until the weather warms a smidge. James has volunteered to help get the gaus in order with me this weekend, so we can put the Stupas to bed for the really cold months.

We'll be switching focus to statues soon, as we have been keeping them in a holding pattern for much longer than we hoped. You can view posts from early June to see some photos of our trip to New York when Khenpo Norgye gave us some formal instruction on how to correctly fill them.

I'll continue to post photos of the Stupas and temple regularly, in order to keep all of you too far away to visit in touch with these precious objects! This shot is from last winter, the Stupa probably looks very similar to this right now! The Stupas, as you can see, are wonderful to behold all year, no matter what the weather. It is our sincere hope that you will take advantage of this break in our activity (you might get to see the Stupas without our tools and equipment in your way!) to come visit them in person. The blessings are truly immeasurable! Posted by Picasa
