December 18th...Diligence and Flexibility...

Another retreat day today. It's looking like this will be the norm for a while.

We did run out to the craft store and picked up some desiccant with high hopes of getting the gau on the Enlightenment Stupa together by next weekend. The weather is our big challenge there, but we're use to this now.

Short post tonight as I dive into another few days of work at the hospital. Norbu handed a CD of photos from his trip to New Orleans to me today though! So you can keep checking the blog over the next few days, I can give you some glimpses of his adventures!

For now, I'll leave you with this photo of the Tara statue in our prayer room. A quick and unskillful shot (haven't learned how to use the fancy new camera yet), but it is Green Tara. This altar has 21 Taras on it, and this is the central statue. I'll be working on getting photos from within the temple over the winter months.

The temple, like the Stupas, is open 24 hours a day. The room where this statue resides also houses our 24 hour prayer vigil, where ordinary folks have been setting aside their lives in 2 hour increments for over 20 years to keep an unending stream of prayer going for the relief of suffering for all beings! How amazing is that? If you'd like to see this for yourself come on out! Anytime, day or night, there'll be someone in there praying for you! Posted by Picasa
