December 19th....Child of Noble Family...

Worked at the hospital today. I work on an oncology floor, and we see suffering up front and personal. So, I'm going to leave you today with a quote from The Tibetan Book of the Dead as translated by Chogyam Trungpa and Fransesca Fremantle:

"Oh child of noble family, now what is called death has arrived. You are not alone in leaving this world, it happens to everyone, so do not feel desire and yearning for this life. Even if you feel desire and yearning, you cannot stay, you can only wander in samsara."

For those that may read these lines with alarm, know that the text goes on to give detailed instructions to the dying person, aiding them in transforming what can be a frightening situation into the dawning of their liberation.

Okay, so it doesn't have to do with Stupas on the surface. We're still waiting on the granite altar stone (Andre called me at work today, he'll deliver sometime on Wednesday), and Lisa Banana is trying to work out a plexi deal at her job....we'll have to see how this all goes!

I will leave you with the usual invitation to come see the Stupas and temple in person. No need to be Buddhist, or even religious, they are here for all who seek some peace and relief from suffering.
