We did make some alarming discoveries (this is now an expected outcome). Here, Lisa is able to insert the entire blade of her putty knife into a crack between the ornament and the concrete of the Stupa. This indicates two problems, first, the ornament is made of fortran. We learned last year that this material dissolves when exposed to moisture. Next, we always take a deep breath when this artwork is potentially going to come apart (some chunks of that rose garland have already fallen off) as we are total fledglings at making such things (we've never done it before...but that too is nothing new anymore). Posted by Picasa
