June 6th...Aspirations for the benefit of beings...

This photo is from last year. It was from Chokor Duchen, one of the 4 major celebrations of the Tibetan Calendar. We call them 10 Million Days, because all positive actions are karmically magnfied on these days, bringing tons more benefit (the negative actions are likewise multiplied, so we tend to be pretty careful on these days!).

We have one coming up this weekend, Saga Dawa, the anniversary of the enlightenment of Buddha Shakyamuni! You can see we've been working on this very same Stupa, and we're hoping to provide a similar opportunity to guests! Yup, we hope to have paint, brushes and beneficial prayers on the ready for you! These visitors had no idea of our plan, but were thrilled to participate! We hope you'll take some time out of your weekend and come visit us on Sunday, and maybe we'll offer you a brush (don't worry, one good stroke is all it takes to build some fantastic merit---so we won't keep you too long!). If you can't be here in Maryland, you can donate to the cause using the link on this page, just mark your donation as a contribution to the paint or brushes for the celebration---even $1 would bring you some great benefit!

We'll keep you posted as the week progresses...many pieces need to fall into place, but with positive intentions and sincere effort, things often come together at the last minute! Posted by Picasa
