I worked today (at the hospital) so have no new photos to post. I did talk with Norbu however, and he did get work done out there. He was joined by Pete and Thubten, and said they were able to get the entire base of the Enlightenment Stupa done! That means all we have left to do is the bumpa, which (we hope...)will only take one day (you never know the way things have been of course). Norbu said he will be back out tomorrow, and will work with whoever is there to help him to get it done if he can. Whether he can or not it was a great job out there today guys!
Tomorrow Ani Sherab Khandro (professional artist and Stupa builder) will be joining Lisa to assess the Migyur Dorje Stupa termas and artwork, as well as continue working on the lotus petals for the Long Life Stupa. I will, again, be at work, but will try to convince Lisa to use my camera and take a few photos of whatever goes on out there. We'll see how that goes though, Lisa is trying to gather as much instruction and guidance as she can while Ani Sherab is actually here. That is the most important thing, after all. : )
We will all be there Monday (I will take photos of what happened over the weekend then!) for Saga Dawa. We'll have some repair mortar and putty knives for anyone who wants to repair a Stupa on 10 Million Day! Or even if you just want to come out and see what it is all about, please do come! If you can't make it out then check out the blog, we'll try to share as much of the experience as we can with you!
Just to remind all of you, everyone you see on these pages and in these photos has taken time out of their ordinary lives to engage in work that is arduous, dirty and extraordinary. They are all ordinary people, with lives, jobs and habitual tendencies, who have embraced the opportunity to benefit beings with certainty. Stupas possess immeasurable power to benefit beings, and though we all are regular folks with our own issues and challenges, we know that by offering these Stupas to you extraordinary blessings will come! It is actually easy, in this way, to bring amazing benefit to beings, and to the world. By putting a dab of concrete mortar into a crack on the Stupa, you contribute to the end of suffering for all beings! How rare is that? So do come if you can, no special knowledge required, you don't even have to believe in it, just give it a try. We'll be here to walk you through step by step!
