May 16th...Purpose....

Haven't heard from Norbu today (maybe he's still working!) so I can't tell you how it's gone. : ) So we'll have to remain in suspense together. : )

Did hear from Michelle, a sangha member who offered to sponsor a bucket of paint for the Stupa. The great news is she's ordered one, and we'll have it for 10 Million Day! So we'll be able to have everyone who wants to come out and paint a Stupa on 10 Million Day! For anyone who wants to help sponsor this opportunity, we'll need three buckets total (at least) to paint the whole Stupa. If you'd like to sponsor a bucket (or contribute towards one), just follow the link on this page or send a comment to me via this blog, I'll let you know how you can help! An opportunity to not only paint a Stupa on a 10 Million Day, but to provide the paint for everyone who works on the Stupa that day means you provide all of them with that opportunity for merit, and you gather unimaginable amounts for yourself and all you dedicate it to as well! We're thrilled it looks like it will be coming together...

This is really what this is all about. Our efforts to restore these precious structures are motivated by the passionate desire to benefit beings, and true devotion to these objects of refuge, which we recognize as sources of limitless blessings for any being. Stupas benefit all beings, regardless of the quality of their connection with it, whether they know what it is or not, whether they like it or hate it, whether they prostrate to it and make offerings or brake beer bottles on it, the Stupas bring only benefit to any being that contacts it! How amazing, and what a tremendous opportunity to offer our time, effort and resources to keeping such profound blessings in the world, for anyone and everyone who needs relief from suffering!

I'll update the blog tomorrow, hopefully with more news about progress. : )

Please do make plans to come out for 10 Million Day if you can! If you can't, consider making an offering towards the purchase of paint for that day, so you can participate in this auspicious event. You can donate as little as $1 towards it, and we'll honor your request to use it for that. Just use the link on this page and be sure to write in the comments section what you're contributing to. Pay Pal is secure, so you can do this with no worries. If that kind of thing makes you uncomfortable, then join us online, and rejoice in the merit of all those beings out there working on the Stupas, and you'll share in that merit too!
