Thunderstorms and Flood Warnings...

Quite a day today. Despite thunderstorms and flood warnings, a Stupa Crew still assembled and persevered until the Long Life Stupa was stripped of paint. It was awesome to see so many people come out in their rain slickers, scrubbing away the dissolved paint from the Stupa!

There will be one more stage of paint removal, hopefully happening on Monday. The base of the Long Life Stupa will be stripped. From it's current appearance, it will be a much easier job. Paint already peeling everywhere. The white latex paint seems to react more readily with the product, and it's only been hit by overspray.

We're working on a lead on gold paint, thanks to Jerry Mulnix of Calwestern Paints. Hopefully it will meet all our needs, permeability and a brilliant gold finish.

The plan for the coming week includes the final paint removal, purchasing new Plexiglas for the gau, replacing the faded brocade inside the gau, and polishing Amitayus. We'll also be continuing to work on repairs. So far the repairs we've made seem to be holding up well.

Enough dialogue, here's some pictures....
