April 26th...Connections...

Work progressed well today. We used less sand than previously, getting a better feel for the right pressure, the right amount of sand, and the right approach with the hose.

The big news is all the visitors we saw today! It was a beautiful day today, not too hot, not too cold, and not humid. So folks were out to see our parks and Stupas, and we had some invited guests as well. My Mom and Dad made it out, primarily because they never see me anymore, and Mom follows this blog, so she wanted to see it in person. We also had a visit from David Parker and his wife Ameena. David will be helping us build a platform for the Stupa on Friday. He brought his wife, who is from Nepal, and she told me it is their anniversary. They decided it would be great to celebrate by walking around Stupas! They're from Frederick, where there is a Kagyu center. David is helping them with renovation as well, but will take some time out to get us going on the platform. Thanks David! And happy anniversary!

It really brings all of us working on these Stupas great joy to see so many come out and take advantage of their presence. They exist for no other reason than to be a source of benefit to beings, regardless of species. All this work, all the prayers, all the resources we're devoting to this project, all of it we do for one reason, to bring benefit to sentient beings now and in the future. The greatest support you could offer us is simply coming out to see the Stupas, whether we're around or not. Just come out and see them, sit with them, circumambulate them. It is quiet here, and peaceful (when we're not blasting...and we will stop if you visit while we work), and the Enlightenment Stupa is accessible day or night, any hour. There are lights so you can see your way around it. It is always here, ready to offer you peace, healing, and blessings.

Tomorrow I'm at work, so we'll hope Norbu remembers his camera. : ) This is difficult work physically, and he's doing the toughest job of all every day. He's also moving tomorrow (closer to the temple) so will start late. So if he forgets his camera, that will be easy to understand. : )

Thanks to Ashby for coming out and pitching in! His help with the sand has been really helpful. His devotion to the Stupas is inspiring to all of us.

May all virtue and merit generated by this activity be devoted to freeing every being from suffering, establishing every last one in unending joy...
